Winning Wheels

Spring is a busy time of the year at the Lyndon Progress Center Greenhouse. The participants of our Vocational Training Program fill soil cells with dirt, plant seeds and are involved in the entire process from the planning stages, through the growing phase, to the selling experience.

The large greenhouse is the latest addition to an always-growing list of vocational and recreational opportunities at Winning Wheels. It is located at the Lyndon Progress Center, just 4 miles north of Prophetstown. Residents in the Day Treatment Program at the Progress Center are growing an assortment of several thousand annuals which will be used in garden areas around Winning Wheels and STRIVE.

The Vocational Training Program also hold a plant sale each year in early May. There are always many varieties of plants and flowers to choose from. There'll be tomato plants, too!

This year we will be open on May 4th and 5th from 1pm to 5pm and on May 6th from 9am to 3pm. If you are in the area, we hope you will stop by and see our greenhouse. Residents from the Day Treatment program will be proud to show you around and hopefully, sell you some plants!
