Pleasant View Nursing and Rehabilitation is a private, Medicare and Medicaid approved facility offering skilled and intermediate care. Pleasant View is located in the Northwest Illinois community of Morrison, overlooking the historic Lincoln Highway. We are committed to meeting the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and recreational needs of elderly individuals with respect, dignity and empathy. Our goal is to assist each resident in reaching their maximum level of independence, by providing the highest quality care and the comprehensive rehabilitation services each individual resident requires.

Ice Cream Social in the Rocky Road Ice Cream Parlor at Pleasant View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation CenterPleasant View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center has a licensed capacity of 74 beds, has qualified, caring staff and is fully equipped with the latest in ergonomic, security and health care technology. We have created a comfortable, homelike atmosphere where residents may enjoy our beautiful bird aviary, garden and gazebo/patio area or view the colorful fish in our aquarium. Residents may also choose to have a bird in their room, and all share the enjoyment of our live-in cat and bunnies. We welcome visiting children and grandchildren with an outdoor playground and indoor Kiddie Corner. We promote an enthusiasm for living and are committed to providing the maximum quality of care.

Pleasant View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has all the comforts of home Pleasant View is pleased to present Pleasant View on Main. Join us for a walk down memory lane. The "Main Street Concept" has been incorporated throughout the facility to promote a greater sense of community amongst the residents who live here. Charming storefront facades adorn the hallways, reminiscent of bygone days. When visiting, please take a moment to relax in our old fashioned soda shop with a refreshing fountain drink or ice cream sundae. Or, you may peruse the shelves of our Five and Dime General Store for favorite antiques or enjoy a homemade cookie. Buffet-style dining is served in Cafe' Amore, our quaint Italian bistro, and offers a variety of delicious choices at each meal including fresh-baked breads, homestyle soups, and garden-fresh salad bars. Ye Olde Bean Coffee Shoppe is a great place to go for a cup of cappuccino or fresh gourmet coffee.

Raiding the Candy Jar at Pleasant View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center Our fitness center has a new look as well with a colorful, relaxing environment, spa fountains, new equipment, and a beautiful new courtyard with walking path currently under construction. The Director of Nursing's office has been transformed to Dutchess Sweets, reminiscent of an old-fashioned candy store with penny candies available on the shelf. Water Works Park has found its way to the south lounge where games, books, crayons, and toys await visiting children. The main office now inspires memories of the Pony Express Post Office and the Pleasant View Savings and Trust. The Clip and Curl Beauty Salon also offers a new look with its striped barber pole, inviting customers in and the bubble gum machine thanking them for their patronage.

A Team Approach

Pleasant View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of each resident. Under the direction of our Medical Director, individual care plans are developed to assist each resident in attaining their fullest achievable potential and to ensure that a program of the most comprehensive health care services is being implemented. The treatment team is comprised of professionals from a variety of clinical disciplines, including Physicians, Nurses, Physical & Occupational Therapists, Social Services professionals, Recreational Therapists and Dietary specialists.

Professional Care

Quality medical care is provided 24 hours per day by our team of primary care physicians, licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants. Pleasant View's Medical Director specializes in long-term care, has on-site office hours, and makes "house calls" frequently throughout each week. Physical, Speech & Occupational Therapy

Rehabilitation aide works with resident in Pleasant View's physical therapy clinic Pleasant View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center residents have access to the benefits of a fully-equipped physical therapy clinic. Physical and Occupational Therapy services are available up to five days per week and are provided by a certified physical therapy assistant and certified rehabilitation aides under the direction of licensed physical and occupational therapists. Speech and Language Pathology / swallow therapy is also available upon referral.

Social Services

Pleasant View's Social Services Department provides ongoing assistance for residents and family members as residents adjust to their living environment. Qualified Social Workers are available to help with social, emotional, or financial concerns. Social Workers conduct psychosocial therapy groups, facilitate Alzheimer and M.S. Support groups, coordinate resident council meetings, provide individual counseling and make referrals to other support services as appropriate.

Recreational Therapy

There's never a dull moment at Pleasant View Nursing Home The Recreational Therapy department strives to optimize each resident's physical, mental, emotional and social functioning. A wide variety of recreational programs are provided seven days per week including evenings, weekends and holidays. Recreational programs include music therapy, animal facilitated therapy, crafts, current events, group exercises, bingo and word games. There are also many special events scheduled routinely throughout the year to specifically promote the involvement of family and friends. Community outings to parks, restaurants and shops are also part of each monthly calendar. We strongly encourage resident involvement through our Resident Council, Recreation Planning Committee, Card Committee and Food Advisory Council. Here's an example of our monthly events and outings.

Dietary

Delicious dining at Pleasant View Buffet-style dining is served in Cafe' Amore, our quaint Italian bistro, and offers residents a variety of delicious choices at each meal. Fresh-baked breads, homestyle soups, and garden-fresh salad bars tempt even the most discerning palate. All menus are approved by our Registered Dietitian. Between meals, residents may enjoy a cup of espresso or gourmet coffee at Ye Olde Bean Coffee Shoppe, homebaked cookies at the general store, or an ice cream treat at our Soda Fountain. Congratulations to our Dietary Manager, Sheila Hamilton, for receiving the Dietary Manager of the Year award!

Community Involvement

Pleasant View Nursing Home helps residents to maintain community and family ties by regularly hosting community club meetings and special events at the facility. The Prairie Facilities Auxiliary, a group of active families and community members, sponsors programs and fundraisers throughout the year to offer support and advocacy to benefit the residents of Pleasant View.
